Thanks to psychology for a growth mind set
ReplyDeleteGrowth mind set is very important. It helps us stay motivated.
DeleteThanks for sharing!
Psychology has helped me understand what is going on within me and those around me and it has allowed me to calm down and take a step back because of the realization that there is something going on which can make a person act the way they are both physically and through events in their lives.
DeleteExcellent point Richard. Sometimes you have to take a step back and reevaluate and start again. Thanks for sharing!
DeletePsychology has helped me shape My Life by making me understand motivation and goal setting. Living life without setting a goal is hard for you to keep being motivated. Because you don’t have anything to keep making yourself go. Setting a challenge for yourself is like competing with people for a race, because you are challenging yourself physically and mentally.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you 100 percent. Goal setting is essential. I have to set goals daily in order to stay on track. I like you take on setting challenges. Very interesting. I think I will give it a try.

Psychology has helped me with relationships with friends and family and also with motivation for myself as well as decision making. When I started looking more into the cognitive part of psychology it helped me shape my thoughts on how I process things and the way I make decisions on certain things in life. So far it has helped me with making better rational decisions instead of jumping off the cliff without considering all aspects of the situation. I noticed in regards to relationships with certain people I have grasp a better understanding of how people think and function. It can come across as being weird but it has definitely helped me understand why people think or act a certain way.
DeletePsychology has helped me understand the way in which the brain works and what each part of it is responsible for. I want to be a physical therapist, so from a medical standpoint psychology is extremely beneficial as it helps me understand how injuries affect people; especially from a mental standpoint.
ReplyDeleteBecca thank you for making the connection between physical therapy and Psychology. I believe making those connections are vital in any field of study. Understanding the human experience is so important. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteThis is my post "Gabriel Wilson", I am not sure how to put my name here.
DeletePsychology has helped me in so many ways. First it allows me to understand myself a little better but also it allows me to understand other people's mindsets in various ways. I used to wonder why people do the things they do, myself included, such as continuing negative actions that are detrimental or inflicting themselves with negative thoughts. I learned through psychology that a lot of things are genetic even our potential for happiness can be passed down through the genes, which blows my mind and many things are also subconscious, like the psychoanalytic theory touches on. Our environment also shapes our personalities and perspectives on the world. Learning psychology allows me to see that there are many aspects that shape human behavior, the mindset, and actions. It allows me to pinpoint what those things may be for different individuals including myself. I truly love learning about psychology because I see the world completely different.
ReplyDeleteGabriel excellent job in explaining how Psychology has shaped your life. I also believe that our subconscious thoughts impact our lives if we don't address it earlier on. Psychology provides us with so many perspectives and open our minds to so many different ways of thinking instead of a stand alone thought. Thanks for sharing!
DeletePsychology has helped me learn about how behavior in other people works and how the brain works. It has also taught me mindset and why certain people do or act the way they do.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! Understanding how the brain works aid us in exploring the human experience. These experiences help us understand our behaviors as well as others.
DeletePsychology has helped me dearly. I have learned how to have less anxiety and stress and how to control it. I've also learned new techniques on how to motivate myself, because I have a hard time getting out of bed and getting things done. I've also learned how to understand my friends emotions and how to help them. I wouldn't be where I am today mentally without psychology.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your thoughts! I'm glad that you were able to develop techniques to help with reducing your anxiety. There was a time when I was younger when my anxiety got the best of me. It was hard to perform simple tasks and I felt very depressed. I learned that writing out my thoughts and feelings help me greatly.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Hannah. I'm working on stepping outside of myself in order to understand others.

ReplyDeleteHi. I have always been fascinated with how the mind works. I am a person who is overly anxious all the time and have had events that triggered those anxieties. In this field of study Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud are two of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteThank you for referencing our great fathers of Psychology. Jung and Frued gave us an excellent framework for exploring the field of Psychology. How do you deal with your triggers?
DeletePsychology has helped me in many different ways this year. Has given me new insight on how to see problems and how to have a different mindset about situations. The growth mindset has helped a lot this year in my problems.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your thoughts Brandon. Psychology has a way of opening your mind which is parallel to the growth mindset concept. The more you accept change the better you are able to handle life challenges.
DeletePsychology has helped me learn a lot about how the brain plays such a huge part in you as a person. It is very interesting. It has taught me how to set goals and motivate myself as an individual as well.
ReplyDeleteSelf motivation can be hard to achieve at times but, with daily determination you are able to develop obtainable goals which is key. Thanks for blogging with me.
DeleteThis class has taught me things like how to look at things with a different perspective and mindset, or how to set goals and achieve them and so much more. I have also learned so many new and unique things about how the brain works and thinks about situations. I never realized and thought about how differently our brains thinks about everyday things until I read and watched videos in this class.
ReplyDeletePsychology classes are very interesting. Even though it can be a bit overwhelming. There is something in the field most people can find helpful. I'm still learning everyday. Thanks for blogging with me.
DeleteI feel that psychology has taught me a lot since I have been in the class. Learning how the brain works to tell other parts of your body what to do. Also learning how your brain works to remember or store information has been very exciting. So far I have learned better ways to help me study. This class is also helping not only myself but other better.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! Psychology is such a interesting field and never a dull moment. There is always something to learn. I'm pretty sure there is a concept of Psychology that most people would find interesting.
DeletePsychology has been present in my life for many years. I started therapy in the 7th grade and continued for five years until I had to move from my hometown in 2018. My therapist got me interested in his work and I have always been interesting in pursing therapy as a carrier even though I was talked out of it when I first went to college. Through psychology I learned a lot of what shapes emotional responses and how important environmental and personal factors are to how your personality can be changed. My therapist practiced a large amount of positive psychology with me that left a lasting impact and I try to carry it into my day to day interactions with others.
ReplyDeleteWonderful job making the connection between Psychology and physical therapy. I believe environment factors have a major impact on how we respond to external stimuli. It's brings us back to nature versus nurture. What do you think has a greatest impact biological factor (DNA) or environmental factors(how you were raised)?
DeletePsychology has helped me improve my self in all aspects of life. Learning about growth mindsets has helped me with school so much!!
ReplyDeleteThis rees.
DeleteHaving a growth mindset is essential especially while learning new tasks. It's so easy to give up but even harder to push forward. I'm glad that understanding the concept of growth mindset has had a positive impacted on your educational goals. Thanks for blogging with me.
DeletePsychology has helped me understand why people react a certain way or they do certain things. Recently Ive there was a situation with this girl who says different things aka make up lies to get a reaction out me. Due to the fact that I actually analyze her mindset and her as a person I don't let her get to me, and Im not going to lie the old me would have popped but because I understand her mindset a little better and I actually evaluate the situation it doesn't bother one bit. In fact I ignored her and blocked her. So psychology has helped me change my mindset in handling situations maturely and redirect my focus on more important things. With this I've built more patience with people and better responses with people at work and in day to day life.

Psychology really put into perspectives for me many things that can help with and impact your overall health. I have taken Psychology before many years ago, but it didn't nearly dive into the detail that the course has. What hit home for me was how important sleep is. I've always had terrible sleeping habits, and reading about the negative health consequences of lack of sleep, and what it can do to your overall mental health, has caused me to change my habits, and I've even scheduled an appointment with a sleep doctor due to my sleep apnea and what I believe is insomnia as well. Since I've been getting more sleep by being more disciplined about screen time before bed and setting set times to start preparing for bed and being in bed by a certain time, I've already seen a difference. I've been more focused at work, and my overall mood has improved, feeling less down and depressed.
ReplyDeleteSorry, this is Kenneth Farmer, I'm in your Psychology class this semester. I'm not sure why it says unknown.
DeleteAngelina Cain: Psychology has allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of how our brain functions and why. By knowing this it has allowed me to become more self aware of the things I do and say. This self awareness has motivated me to do what I know is healthiest for me mentally.
ReplyDeletePsychology has helped me learn how to manage my ADHD and anxiety better. For years I've struggled with school, especially when it came to keeping up with assignments/deadlines and studying for tests and quizzes. Learning about the different study strategies and the different mindsets have helped me implement changes that have helped tremendously!
ReplyDeletePsychology has helped me a lot personally in helping me understanding how to study more effectively, how to get better sleep, and how to have a positive, strong growth mindset. Psychology has also helped me understand the human brain a lot more in how each part performs specific functions to enable us to perform every day tasks.
ReplyDeletePsychology allowed me to understand my mind and my thoughts in a different way. It's showed me the correlation between my personality types and the ways I communicate in not only groups of people but to myself. It's also shown me the stages of life, in which I am capable of understanding my nieces and nephews way more than I could before. Psychology not only allowed me to understand my mind and train of thoughts but helped me realize that the mental illness that I deal with on a daily basis, is valid and not my fault.
ReplyDeletepsychology has played a big part in helping me understand the why, why we think certain ways or why or mind works in the way that it does and also the body too. Learning why your mind works the way it does but when you learn why, if its something that negatively effects you can be the start of the fixing the issue process. I use to be someone that felt out of place for having certain thoughts or feeling a particular way and some of the things id go through would make me question myself as to why I'm doing something, but psychology has made me realize that I'm not alone and a lot of my thinking is normal.
ReplyDeletePsychology has helped me be more aware of my interactions with people and how what I do or say affects them. It has also helped me find better ways to deal with stress in my life and with school. I've grown to have a more postive mindset and this year after learning more about psychology I've realized that I'm happier than I used to be and I feel a lot better about myself.
ReplyDeletePsychology has helped me better understand past events and current situations. Being a healthcare provider can be challenging at sometimes. As a provider we struggle to understand our patients. Enrolling in psychology has helped me better understand logic and reason behind patients mindsets. I have enjoyed being a psychology student thus far.
ReplyDeleteI agree! Psychology can help you understand people's mindsets which is so helpful for the health care field.
DeleteAlexandra Stephens: Psychology has made me more aware of the world. Most setting are designed with extroverts in mind, pushing introverts to be more extroverted. But we need more introverts for their creativity and leadership.
ReplyDeletePsychology has taught me a different perspective on life. I now have a new found respect for humans. It teaches how to understand how the brain works and how it operates. I have always been interested in how and why a person thinks and acts they way they do and I have finally found answers. This is a new tool I will carry with me forever. Thank you

Psychology has taught me how significant sleep is to the body and brain. The fact that if we do not get sleep we have a decrease in cells that fight off diseases like cancer. Or also how it could affect the brain in bad ways like building up stress which could make the brain smaller or kill brain cells. Also how much sleep affects the way the brain can function and remember with a fulls night of rest compared to staying up throughout the night. Learning about this opened my eye to how important sleep is and has helped me make it a priority and has helped me significantly since I have made efforts to get the sleep I need.

Psychology has really helped me understand the brain and why people act the way they do. I also have learned healthy habits for myself.
ReplyDeleteLearning about growth mindsets has made me excel in my life. I have always been pretty self aware, so if I am in a bad mood, I am able to jump out of it due to what I have learned this semester. Learning about depression has also helped me help others. One of my best friends has been depressed for years and I try my best to help her using some of the strategies I have learned. I learned how much stress can harm the body and that really freaked me out. I now try to do whatever I can to not get stressed out over the littlest things. One thing I wish we talked about was hypochondriacs. I think I am a hypochondriac and I never know how to tell myself that I am okay. Haha! My mom thinks I am crazy when I start to self diagnosis myself. I should probably talk to my therapist about that but if anyone has any tips please let me know.
ReplyDeletePsychology has helped me shape my life by educating me that every individual has
ReplyDeletetheir personal journey and a reason for being born into this planet. Living life as it is
would become dull in the long term, but understanding one's purpose in life will
provide a sense of fulfilment and contentment. I was able to have a clearer
understanding of what is essential for me and my future while searching for my
purpose with the help of psychology. It also allowed me to be emotionally open,
making it easier to communicate with people about how I felt or what I was
experiencing through.
