This world is stressing me out!

Do you feel stress beyond measure? How do you manage your stress? Is there a secret to balancing out stress levels?

Comments

  1. I have always had a difficulty handling stress, so a lot of the time, I hold onto it. I have developed a sense of tolerance for stress ( which I know, is not the best way to deal with stress) This tolerance has created a sense of a numbing feeling, because there seems to be absolutely nothing else I can do at the time. Sometimes I outgrow things that stress me out, no real reasoning to it, it just leaves. Sort of in the same way that it shows up in the first place. I would love to be able to calm myself and think clearly when I'm stressing out, but I haven't found how to do that yet.

    1. To manage stress I use strategies such as relaxing, meditating, exercising, and taking mental breaks. It is very important to take mental breaks throughout the day because it helps us maintain our physical and mental states. Also, practicing good habits such as getting a good amount of sleep at night, etc.

    2. I have been struggling with stress since I started high school however, it has gotten a lot worse once I started my adult life. I feel like having responsibilities and having to manage your time without being on a set schedule has definitely brought a lot more stress than before. I manage my stress by taking deep breaths, writing to-do lists, and making time to do the things that I love that destress me. If there is a secret to balancing out your stress I have yet to learn it although, I do believe there are a lot of ways to manage stress it just requires you as a person to put in the work to balance your stress levels. Some ways I would say are going on walks, writing in a journal, and spending time with family and pets.

  2. Lately, I've been feeling stressed, because my schedule is full with too many obligations. My mother emphasize the importance of relaxation. Over the past six months I started going to get monthly massages or pedicures. I also go to yoga occasionally. These types of activities help excrete dopamine to produce relaxation and happiness. I feel so much better after doing these things. I am looking forward to my family upcoming vacation out of the country. In general, every person should take time to value their happiness and find things that make them feel better.

    1. I have always had issues with this. Sometimes I get stuck caring about everyone else and I forget to care of myself. Along with finances being an issue, for some reason, even though I know it's not true, there is a part of me that is like "those things are selfish." I'm just now getting to the point where I can properly rationalize when I need time for myself.

  3. Stress is a daily task in life. When faced with stress, I want to take time to myself in the barn. Being around the horses, cleaning stalls, riding horses or even sitting while they eat, helps me decompress and re-evaluate the situation. I am able to gather my thoughts in a safe setting. If I am stressed and I ride, once finished, I feel as though I have worked out in the gym for 3 hours. This workout relaxes my brain allowing for all of the noise to stop.

  4. Life is stressful, there's no question about it. I think life has been a little extra stressful lately. I feel like I have a lot on my plate but I'm working hard to manage it all. I'm not sure if there's a trick to keeping stress levels in check, but I do know a few things that help me feel better. I attempt to unwind by doing activities like listening to music, reading a book, and binge-watching my favorite series. When I truly need to clear my head, I'll occasionally just hop in my car and start driving, with no particular destination in mind.

  5. Yes, sometimes I fell stress beyond measure, it is typically centered around schoolwork and very rarely work. When I get stressed like that I tend to develop a migraine. When that happens I limit my triggers and take my migraine medicine. The secret to balancing stress is limiting the triggers and trying not to take so much to heart and home with you.

  7. Sometimes I feel so stressed and overwhelmed with trying to go back to school, working a job, and still managing a family, and battle other personal things that I have going on. I always try to prioritize my schoolwork and make sure I have all my assignments complete by the due dates. Sometimes this can be overwhelming because I don't even understand the assignment completely or how to do it because I feel like I am old and not as computer savvy as I use to be. I work eight hours out the day and sometimes still have to come home, cook dinner, and still make time for my family. It becomes a lot. I try to do most of my assignments on the weekend. If I start getting overwhelmed I will just stop because I realize I am not going to give it 100% so I will watch something on tv that I like, get on social media, or listen to a podcast or something to try to take my mind off of things and later go back to it once I feel better.

  8. I do at times feel immeasurable stress. I have to work full time, plus mandatory over time Monday through Friday, and help take care of my sister’s little ones everyday on top of being a full time college student. Stress is drawn to me! I just deal with it the best I can when I have things I need to get done. Once everything I need to do is handled for the week, I take some quiet time to myself and break down. Letting it out helps me start fresh for the week as holding it in gets very overwhelming for me. I don’t have a secret for balancing it and don’t think I do. I just go outside and look at how beautiful the nature is and I feel as though I can breathe again.

  9. It can be hard working a full-time job, doing school part-time, and taking care of two kids. Sometimes I feel a weight on my chest that doesn't go away. To stop myself from spiraling out of control I try to go to a workout class for 45 a few days a week. I also see a therapist a few times a month. And eat (as close as possible) to farm foods and take supplements such as lion's mane.

  10. Life is stressful, but I think we need stress to survive and have purpose. However, whenever life gets overwhelmingly stressful, I tend to calm my mind through my body. For example, going to the gym helps me a lot. Or taking a cold shower and having a relaxing tea. In extreme cases, I will meditate and/or journal my thoughts.

  11. I feel like my life is a constant battle with stress. Honestly, I feel discomfort in peace. I would like to say I thrive under stress, but I also result to unhealthy coping mechanism and struggle to get sleep. I did begin reaching out for help and creating list to get all my thoughts down on a page. I have found that creating lists help for a variety of different stressful scenarios.

  12. I have felt stressed beyond measures lately. The only way I was able to alleviate it was to unplug from everything for a couple pf days. I tied up loose end from work and school and went to clear my head. I did things like going to the gym, walking on the beach, sat in the park, just anything that would help me relax. Listening to music is one the things that helps the most.

  13. I would not say I feel stressed beyond measure. I would say I do become stressed in stressful situations such as school tests and stuff like financial issue. They way I deal with my stress is to play video games. I understand that the video games I play can become stressful in itself but I extremally enjoy playing games and it helps me forget a lot about the stressful situations I am experiencing.

  14. Stress is an ugly word. One in which almost everyone is subject to on a daily basis. Whether you are a student, full time employee or employer, mother, father and so forth.. Stress comes to you all the time. We have to learn healthy ways to release stress. One way to relieve stress is with exercise. Most days I dread going to the gym, but by the time I leave, I feel so much better. I spent 45 minutes on myself. I feel a sense of accomplishment when I leave. I know I have decreased my stress level by a tiny measure.

  15. I have always had a hard time dealing with stress ever since i was little. It is something that i am currently working as it is a daily issue that i face. I often feel stressed beyond measure. This probably comes from the lack of down time i allow myself. I try to fill every second of my free time. This often is counterproductive as i tend to not allow enough time to complete something. I have tried to work on my stress by going for a walk anytime i am feeling stressed. I am not sure if this works as it is a fairly new part of my routine. but no negatives so far.

  16. I don't think managing stress is so much a secret as it is a challenge. Everyone is going to have different coping mechanisms to a degree. One of the most popular options is exercise, but even this can be broken down into thousands of different categories. Whenever I'm overwhelmed by work, finances, or relationship related issues, I usually turn to hiking. It gives an overall more pleasant experience than the gym. In a way it combines exercise and mindful meditation, being alone out in nature. It brings me great comfort and always feels like a reset button. The only downside is in the summer in South Carolina it's unreasonably hot so the gym can sometimes be the only option.

  17. Lately, to help with stress I've been doing yoga, pilates and journaling it has helped me so much.

  18. Stress really feels more like one of those four letter words sometimes. I know there is some good stress and some bad, but for me it feels like I just can't catch a break with the bad. I seem to be handling it much better than I have in the past, though. I have started to do yoga again, along with meditation, which does help. It's difficult to let your mind be completely calm and free, but working on it daily is great. I also journal and try to just remain positive. Things will be okay one day because they HAVE to be. Let the stress be something that helps you grow and be better the next day.

  19. Truth be told, I am stressed beyond measure. I haven't been able to go to the gym, haven't been maintaining my calorie and protein intake, haven't really been sleeping good, that on top of school, work, and advancing my career within the armed services. I manage my stress by taking periodic breaks very regularly, and when I do have the free time, I end up going to the gym or just hanging out with friends. It's a very good stress relief that gets my mind off of the daily and weekly goals I have to achieve. The big secret for managing stress is just learning to balance out your life. If you're not able to do something at that particular moment, then take a break or just finish your day off and go do something you enjoy. You have to take a step back sometimes and realize how far you've come in the past month, day, or even year so actually appreciate the progress that you've made. That's what I have to do very periodically, seeing as I have tasks to do daily and never feel like I'm getting ahead anywhere.

  20. I would say that my stress levels have increased significantly in the last 5 years, and while i have learned a few ways to help mitigate stress, i would also say that learning to not stress over things that you can't control is a very important factor in managing stress. Stress can come from so many different angels in our lives that we will never be without any stress in most situations, so it is important to learn to roll with the punches that stress throws your way and continue moving forward through it. I have found that learning to meditate is an important part of stress management for me and would highly recommend most people at least learn the skills related to meditation, as it allows us to have better control over our mood and emotions.

  21. I do not think I have ever felt stress beyond measure, but I may have gotten close. Depending on the situation and how it built up I could feel more overwhelmed than other times. One way that I manage my stress is by removing myself from whatever it is that is causing me to feel like that. I try to calm myself down and remind myself that everything will be okay. Another thing that I do is look at the situation in another form. After reassuring myself I try to move past the situation. While doing that I work on making my workload smaller so that it is not as burdensome. If there was a secrete to balancing out stress levels it would be to manage our emotions well. That way we could go through with it and have control over our emotions so that it would not be hard to return to what we were doing.

  22. I do not feel stressed beyond measure. I balance my stress my making sure that I am sticking to certain routines and patterns that encourage a healthy lifestyle and balance. These habits include starting my morning off my reading the word of God (the bible), getting exercise in regularly, drinking water, eating a balanced diet, and spending ample enough time with friends. I also make sure that I have outlets where I can spend time with people who are unbiased towards what I am saying such as therapy. I think the biggest key with keeping from being stressed out is staying connected with others and not living alone in isolation.

  23. I do not feel stressed beyond measure. I balance my stress by planning ways to balance my time and stress. I listen to music, exercise regularly, eat a balanced diet, and spend time with my friends. I also try to do things I enjoy like cooking and walking my dog as a stress reliever. I think that staying organized also helps reduce my stress. I spend time each week putting things away so my surroundings do not stress me out. When I start feeling stress I do some deep breathing and some meditating to balance my life.

  24. I used to get stressed out so much. It was causing my Lupus to be active. I started exercising to relieve stress. I try to get lots of rest and take vitamins to help me cope with stress. I have even started trying to change my diet. I take time to spend with my husband and kids. I started taking breaks on assignments and then coming back them to later if I was struggling. I had made lots of strides on minimizing my stress for my health's sake.

  25. I have had and some days still have my moments of great stress. I deal with depression and anxiety coupled with personality disorder. Managing my stress is a multiphasic. I am on several medications to moderate moods. I also see a whole health coach once a month. I try to get out and walk to stay active to keep my endorphins flowing, which aids in deep breathing and my exposure to green space.

  26. I am always stressed! I have 5 teenagers (and their extra curricular activities), work full time, and school so I am always doing something. I try to make some time for myself but it doesn't always happen. I am trying to make a better effort to exercise, eat better and get more sleep to help with stress and my overall health.

  27. I feel some form of stress on a daily basis. There have even been moments where I have felt like that stress was going to overwhelm me, and I wouldn't be able to escape. I had to really reflect on what is important in my life in order to realize that so much of what was causing me stress was not even close to worth it. This decreased the burden of a lot of stressful things in my life, and for the other stressors that are hard to avoid, I had to find ways to take care of my mental and physical health. When I make sure that I eat healthy, exercise, and get enough sleep, I notice I am better able to handle stressful events in my life. I try to make this a priority.

  28. Lately I've been felling more stressed at work. We extremely short staffed and I feel like it's getting to me more than ever now. I have to go get sometime to myself when I'm feeling really overwhelmed. Between work and home raising 3 teenage boys how can I not be stressed. Lol

  29. I believe stress is something everyone will face in life. I also would argue that stress alone is what makes us human. Stress is what allows us to grow and get uncomfortable.

  30. At times I do feel stressed beyond measure. I think of my coursework load and wonder if I'll be able to get it all done. It makes me want to give it up at times. I try to manage the stress by taking breaks and thinking of ways I could get it all done with minimal stress. I think everyone has their own secret to managing stress levels because things work for different people.

  31. It's important to remember that everyone's experience with stress is different and everyone has different reactions and coping mechanisms with how they manage stress. I have a generalized anxiety disorder and although I take medications for it, I feel stressed on a daily basis. I feel stressed about everything school, work, family and my finances. I'm always stressing and fearing I will fail at everything I do and that creates stress. It affects my sleeping patterns, appetite and concentration. I prioritize self-care to maintain a healthy balance and manage my stress levels effectively.

  32. Stress is definitely a part of life. We all deal with stress differently. Lately I have been feeling stress beyond measure. I have not dealt with it in a positive way at all. I am an emotional eater so when stress creeps in so does the junk food. I did have managing stress a little under control at one point. Instead of eating I would go walk or listen to calming music or read my word. Unfortunately I have reverted back to the unhealthy way of dealing with stress. I now have to revamp and refocus my focus on how get back to the place where I managed stressed in a much healthier way.

  33. Yes, most of the time I feel stressed out. Not always beyond measures but I've came pretty close. I have recently moved out of my parents house and bought a house with my fiance. It is a big difference when you're living under your parents' roof. Not only did we buy a house, I'm also going to school full time and I also work full time. I just manage my stress by working on the things that I can control and take things day by day. The root to our stress and I'm sure it's the root to most peoples' stress right now especially this day in age is MONEY! You can never have enough money and everyone strives to have a lot of it. I don't care about being rich, I just want to be comfortable and not feel like I'm scraping by each week. If there is a secret to balancing out stress, PLEASEEEEEEE tell me!! Currently, I don't have a secret to balance out stress.

  34. I do stress about more than I should. I think more so in the past than now, but I still do.
Whether it is about finances, school, work, relationships, there is plenty to stress about!
There are many ways that I manage it. One way is having a drink after a long day, probably not the best way but I try to do so in moderation. Another way is with running.
This is probably the most effective way that I can manage my stress. Another way is by just spending time outside. Fishing, biking, or just going on a walk with my wife. I don't think there is a secret to managing stress. I think everyone is different when it comes to ways to relax and work through hard times.

  35. I usually handle stress well and work better under stress. Lately the world has been stressing me out with all the senseless killings. It seems some people has no regard for human life. Every time I get on social media or watch the news it's another sad story about someone getting killed by the hands of someone else. I wish people cared more about each other and would be so quick to take another one's life without have a simple conversation.

  36. I normally don't let things stress me out but lately life has been hard, and the world has been in an uproar which is not making matters worse. I wouldn't say that I am stressed beyond measures but on certain days I'm a little more stressed than others. There is a mixture of things that stresses me out on the daily such as family, friends, work, bills etc. In my opinion my deliverance is better under pressure, it keeps me focused. I manage stress by taken a mental day, cell phones off, a peaceful day alone to regroup.

  37. I find that meditating is the way I prefer to manager stress. I just got into it, and I haven't stopped since. I used to not understand stress or how to stop overthinking.
A lot has been stressing me out mentally, physically, and emotionally. Then to add on top of all that we have all this craziness going on in the world. But I was always told to control what you can control and if you can't control it don't spend more than 5 minutes thinking about it.

  38. The world has been very stressful and overwhelming lately. It has been alot on trying to juggle returning to school in my 40's, working full time and trying to balance everyday obligations such as family. Instead of holding it all in, I try to take one day out of the month to treat my self to a spa day for relaxation and at the end of each day, I sit outside on my patio and meditate.
